Jim Fowler

Jim is a professional zoologist and was host of the Emmy Award-winning television show Mutual of Omaha’s Wild Kingdom. He received four separate Emmy awards and endorsement by the National PTA for family viewing. Jim has received many other awards in regards to his respect, knowledge and passion of wildlife. Jim was the official wildlife correspondent for NBC’s The Today Show since 1988 and regularly seen on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson, making forty appearances in total as he bought various wildlife animals on the show. In 1957 he conducted the first studies of the largest eagle in the world, the Harpy Eagle in the Amazon. In 1969 he conducted the first studies of the Andean Condor in Peru. In 1997 Jim joined Discovery Communication’s Animal Planet as a wildlife expert and later launched the television program Jim Fowlers Life in the Wild in 2000. Jim has made many other guest appearances on other TV shows and has been a regular guest at Green Chimneys Birds of Prey Day.

The New York State Falconers Association welcomes Jim as our guest speaker at this year’s field meet and look forward hearing his stories about working with various types’ of wildlife including Raptors.
