The

New York State Falconry Association

2014 Field Meet

Hamilton, NY

This year we welcome Oklahoma Eagle Falconer Lauren McGough.

Lauren has long had a love of hunting with golden eagles. She first learned to fly eagles while living in Scotland as a teenager, using captive-bred golden eagles to hunt mountain hares, both off the fist and waiting-on. She later received a Fulbright grant to document the eagle culture of Central Asia and has spent two years in Mongolia and Kazakhstan trapping, training and catching fox with passage female golden eagles. She is currently finishing up a PhD on the subject in anthropology, and is greatly enjoying flying eagles on jackrabbits in her home country.
